Bruce County Genealogical Society invites you to join us on Monday April 12, 2021 at 7pm EDT
Our Speaker: John Kaminski will help us Research in Eastern Europe
You may know John from his years as a director of the Township of Bruce Historical Society or as editor of the history book about Glammis. However, after 37 years in Bruce Township, he moved to Kincardine and is now working on his own genealogy which is centered in eastern Europe. He is currently a webmaster for German Galician Descendants which deals with the province of Galicia in the former Austrian-Hungarian Empire. This is where his ancestors come from.
Topics will include 1. Who kept birth, marriage, death records 2. Where are the genealogical records now 3. Latin and German genealogical terms 4. Village names changes and border changes 5. Family Search – what is it 6. And much, much more.
Even if you don’t have ancestors in Eastern Europe, his talk will help you learn about how to use family search to research in different areas in the world.
